The project is designed to help turn information and guidance into practical action plans tailored to the home and to the characteristics of the people who live there. On this site, a “household member” means anyone who regularly stays in the home and is included in the plan, even if they are not a relative. The tool also works for a person who lives alone, housemates, multigenerational households, children who split time between two homes, a live-in caregiver, and a child who sleeps in the home only part of the week.

Why build a household plan?
Emergency preparedness is not only about buying supplies. It also involves decisions that are better made in advance: where to take shelter, how to stay in contact, who helps whom, what to do when household members are apart, and how to adapt preparedness to the needs of the people who live in the home. Household emergency planning is also used in public preparedness programs in other countries. Prepared Home applies this principle in the Israeli context, drawing on official Israeli guidance and sources.

Adaptation to the home and household
The guides and personal-plan tool address different situations and needs, including children, living alone, functional needs, a preferred language other than English, and medical dependency, and adapt the planning accordingly.
Privacy
Information entered into the personal plan is stored in the browser and is not sent to the site. Learn more about privacy, backup and deletion.
Information from official and professional sources
Content is based on official and professional sources reviewed on the date shown in each guide or review, and is processed for practical preparedness. Sources and instructions may change after the review date.

Independence and transparency
Prepared Home is not operated by Home Front Command or any other government body. Each guide identifies the sources on which it is based.
Review and updates
Content is reviewed and updated as needed, and each guide shows when its sources were last checked.
What the project is not
- It is not an emergency hotline.
- It does not replace current official instructions during an emergency.
- It does not provide personal medical, legal, engineering or safety advice.
- It does not guarantee a response from an authority, organization or emergency service.
