Your information

Privacy, backup and deletion

Your personal plan is stored in the browser you use. The information is not sent to the site and is not stored in a user account.

There is no need to enter your full name, ID number or information that is not needed to prepare the plan.

1. Where is the information stored?

The information is stored on the device and in the browser in which you opened the plan.

For example, if you build the plan on one computer, it will not automatically appear on your phone or on another computer.

2. Who can see the information?

The site does not receive the contents of your plan and cannot view them. Another person using the same device and browser may be able to open the plan.

3. How do I create a backup?

You can create a backup file encrypted with a password you choose and store it in a protected location. The encryption applies only to the backup file; the plan stored in the browser is not necessarily encrypted. A backup lets you keep a copy, move it to another device, and restore the plan after deletion or a technical problem.

4. How do I import a backup?

In the personal-plan tool, choose the option to import a backup and select the backup file you previously saved.

5. How do I delete the plan?

The personal-plan tool includes an option to delete the stored plan. After deletion, you will not be able to continue from where you stopped unless you saved a backup file first.

You can also delete information through your browser settings, but doing so may delete information stored by other websites as well. We therefore recommend using the deletion option inside the plan first.

6. What happens if I clear browsing history?

Deleting site data or information stored by the browser may also delete your personal plan. Deleting only the list of websites you have visited does not necessarily delete the plan.

7. What is encrypted and what is not?

The plan stored in the browser: it is not necessarily encrypted, and another person using the same device and browser may be able to open it.

The backup file: it is encrypted with the password you choose. The level of protection also depends on the strength of the password and on how you store the file and password.

A downloaded or printed copy of the plan: this creates a separate copy that is not protected by the backup-file encryption mechanism, so it should be stored securely.

8. Privacy recommendations

  • Do not enter information that is not needed for the plan.
  • On a shared device, delete the plan after use when appropriate.
  • Store backup files in a protected location.
  • Do not send a backup file in a public group.

9. Google Forms

The feedback and collaboration forms on the Hebrew edition of the site use Google Forms. Information submitted through those forms is also subject to Google’s policies and is sent to the project operator for review.
